- Tewantin is a calm, friendly rural town located in the shire of Noosa, Queensland, Australia.
Tewantin was the original settlement in the Noosa region, and until date, it remains as one of the shires three major centres. Historic Tewantin was originally a timber town and the river port for the Noosa area. Sitting right on the Noosa River makes Tewantin a perfect launching point for the vehicular ferry to the Noosa North Shore, the Great Sandy National Park, and K'gari (formerly Fraser Island).
In modern times, Tewantin is experiencing growth in tourism, construction, rental/real estate services, and healthcare. The town is also renowned for its cafes, restaurants, shops, and the Noosa Regional Gallery.
The estimated population of Tewantin in 2025 is projected to be around 11,840 people.
